Phylicia contacted me back in the beginning of this year to inquire about doing a photo shoot for her 30th birthday. When she told me she wanted to go for a "Funeral for her 20s" vibe, I literally squealed with joy. This is soooooo my jam. Give me everything spooky & vampy and witchy and dark.
We scheduled our sesh for the full moon on Friday the 13th, and it felt like it would take FOREVER for our session date. Well, time flies when you're having fun, and sure enough, it felt like I blinked and all of the sudden it was September.
Even tho we scheduled the session months ago, we didn't decide on the location of the session until the morning of. We had a few different spots on the table, but it wasn't until that morning when this location popped into my head. It wasn't my first photo shoot on this abandoned bridge, but it's been quite a few years since I was here last. It was perfection! The dark, moody sky, playing with smoke bombs, not to mention everything about Phylicia's lewk was ON POINT. Hair, makeup, wardrobe, swoon! She WERKED the camera and we had a blast with her #glamsquad, Amber + Ale' from Indulgence Hair Studio.
At the end of the session when we were walking back to our cars, Phylicia said that throughout the day, all she kept saying to her "glam squad" & me was: "I trust you." This is what happens when you start with an amazing vision and you put your trust in your creative team: ♡
